America turns 250 this year, and the Delaware Valley is throwing the party to match.
If you're in Philadelphia, Burlington County, or Camden County this Independence Day, you have no shortage of options. From the largest free concert in Parkway history to fireworks over the Delaware in Camden, here's everything worth knowing for the July 4th weekend.
Philadelphia: The Birthplace of the Nation Goes All Out
This isn't a typical Fourth of July in Philly. The city is marking America's Semiquincentennial—250 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed right here—and the programming reflects it.
Wawa Welcome America Festival
June 19 – July 4 | Citywide | Free
The 16-day festival wraps up on the Fourth, but plenty is happening in the days leading up to it. Highlights include free admission days at 47 museums across the city, the Salute to Independence Semiquincentennial Day Parade (billed as the largest parade of its kind in the country), and performances from Idina Menzel, Queen Latifah, Eve, Kirk Franklin, and Olga Tañón. The Wawa Hoagie Day tradition also returns.
One Philly: Unity Concert for America
July 4 | Benjamin Franklin Parkway | Free
The main event. The evening of July 4th brings one of the largest free concerts ever staged on the Parkway, with Christina Aguilera, Jill Scott, The Roots, Will Smith, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and more performing live. The night ends with a fireworks display over the Philadelphia Museum of Art around midnight. This is a bucket-list night for anyone in the region—bring a blanket, arrive early, and plan for crowds.
Celebration of Freedom Ceremony
Morning of July 4 | Independence Mall | Free
A morning ceremony at Independence Mall honors the 250th anniversary in the exact place where it all began. The Philly Pops also perform a patriotic evening concert at Independence Mall on July 4th, a quieter alternative to the Parkway spectacle.
Freedom Festival — Northeast Philly
July 4, 5:00 PM | Pleasant Hill Park, 9100 N. Delaware Ave | Free
If you'd rather celebrate closer to Northeast Philadelphia, Pleasant Hill Park hosts a full festival with two beer gardens, two music stages, a kids' zone, a 50-foot Ferris wheel, food trucks, and fireworks at dusk.
FIFA World Cup Bonus
The timing couldn't be more fitting: Lincoln Financial Field hosts a Round of 16 World Cup match on July 4th (Ecuador vs. Ivory Coast), and the FIFA Fan Festival in Fairmount Park continues through the holiday. If your crowd is split between soccer and fireworks, both are happening in the same city on the same night.
Burlington County: Local Celebrations Worth the Drive
Medford Township
July 2 at Dusk (rain date July 6) | Freedom Park, 86 Union Street, Medford An early start to the holiday weekend. Freedom Park hosts Medford's annual fireworks display — a great option if you'd rather beat the July 4th crowd.
Evesham (Marlton)
July 4 at Dusk | Savich Field, 525 East Main Street, Marlton Marlton's local fireworks display right on the Fourth.
Maple Shade
June 27 at 9:30 PM (rain date June 28) | Maple Shade High School, 180 Frederick Avenue Getting a jump on the season — Maple Shade kicks off early and it's close to home for much of Burlington County.
Southampton Township
July 11 at Dusk (rain date July 12) | Red Lion Recreation Park, 458 Red Lion Road If you miss everything else or want to extend the celebration into mid-July, Southampton goes later than anyone else in the county.
Note: Mount Holly's fireworks have been canceled for 2026.
Camden County: Waterfront Views and Block Parties
Camden Waterfront Freedom Festival
July 4, Gates Open 6 PM | Wiggins Waterfront Park & Marina, Riverside Drive The biggest show on the South Jersey side of the river. The Camden Waterfront Freedom Festival features The Commodores, a salute to veterans, and fireworks over the Delaware River. Free admission. The views of the Philadelphia skyline from this side of the river are genuinely spectacular—it's worth the short trip across the bridge.
Haddonfield
July 3 | Drone Show at 9 PM, Gates Open 5 PM Haddonfield does things a little differently: a block party starting at 5 PM and a drone show (not traditional fireworks) at 9 PM on July 3rd. Great for families with young kids who might find traditional fireworks overwhelming.
Cherry Hill
July 2 | Opens 7 PM with DJ, Marching Bands, and Food Cherry Hill gets a head start with its celebration on July 2nd — one of the earlier shows in Camden County.
Collingswood
July 4 at Dusk | Knight Park (Fireworks at Oaklyn) Collingswood's annual show is at dusk on the Fourth. Note: Knight Park has no parking on July 4th, so plan ahead.
