Easter is right around the corner, and if you’re anything like us, you have the menu set and the invite list RSVPed for your holiday festivities. But when it comes to actually filling an Easter basket with yummy treats that go beyond the basic Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg? Well, let’s just say that the bunny hasn’t secured that department yet.
Luckily, Philadelphia is filled with candy and chocolate shops that go above and beyond when it comes to delectable chocolates and sugary sweets. Below, find our 5 favorites for this year.
All Aboard Candy
In addition to the Rittenhouse shop’s normal presentation of Swedish delights, you’ll find a full shelf of Easter-themed treats. From chocolate bars to Sugarfina gummies, taste and presentation align. Just don’t forget to grab a bag full of chocolate malt balls on your way out—they’re the best in the city and no basket is complete without them.
Aurora Grace Chocolates
Step inside of Aurora Grace’s storefront to discover an array of homemade artisan chocolate bon bon in a multitude of contemporary flavors. Think liquid salted caramel, hazelnut praline crunch, s’mores, salted honey tahini, and so much more. Keep an eye out for her Easter collection—there’s no such thing as an Easter basket without a chocolate bunny or egg.
Zipfs Candies
Located in Chestnut Hill, Zipfs Candies has been helping the bunny delight families for over 50 years. Inside, you’ll find old-time chocolate and candy treats that are just as delicious as nostalgic. PS: Be sure to ask for a chocolate coconut egg customization. There’s nothing more magical than having a monogrammed Easter egg in the morning!
Good Good Chocolates
Established in 2016, this Queen Village confectionery is pumping out a whole line of bunny-themed treats. Stop by in-person to pick up a few “Bun Buns” in milk, dark, or white Valrhona chocolate willed with white chocolate covered cookie pearls; passion fruit and raspberry chocolate-speckled eggs filled with corn cerea, kumquat fried egg, milk chocolate trufflesm and a malted mini egg; and Easter bon bons filled with spring-inspired flavors.
